Follow up on MPLS LDP-IGP synchronization

I have just received notification from the IETF that the MPLS LDP-GP Synchronization proposal has been accepted within the Informational track.

My recent blogpost about the subject explains the issue and the solution to prevent an IP link from being used while LDP is not fully converged. The new RFC addresses the same issue but explained in more detail.

Companies who only use standards within their network may now safely implement the feature. Big kuddo’s to the authors of the document and the IETF for writing and accepting the RFC.

Read the IETF RFC 5443 for a full explanation.
